Royce Critical Edition News

Dear Colleagues in the Royce Community,

I am sharing the announcement below with those of you most involved with the work on the philosophy of Josiah Royce- it concerns the stepping down by Randy Auxier from the General Editorship of the Royce Critical Edition.

"Randy Auxier was one of the initiators of the Josiah Royce Critical Edition and became its General Editor.  He was the organizing force behind the very successful Grass Valley world conference on Royce. His latest book, Time, Will and Purpose: Living Ideas from the Philosophy of Josiah Royce, was just published by Open Court Press.  He will be returning to Grass Valley in spring 2014 to give lectures on Royce.  Randy is a positive presence in Royce scholarship and his work on behalf of this endeavor is much appreciated.  Randy has informed the Royce Critical Edition Board that he wishes to step down from his position as General Editor.  The board voted recently to accept this decision.  We are all most grateful for his service and look forward to his continued work on Royce and on the future of scholarship on Royce and on philosophy in general.  A selection committee for the General Editor of the Royce Critical Edition is being formed and announcements
about the future of the edition will be forthcoming."

Thank all of you for your continued interest in and work on behalf of the philosophy of Josiah Royce.

Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley, Chair
Royce Critical Edition Board
